What gets resolved right here

Diagnosis, treatment and transport. Most cases are closed in a single visit, without leaving Sámara.

Emergency and urgent care

Trauma, wounds and stitches, allergic reactions, infections, heat and dehydration, marine stings and bites. Walk in during opening hours and our team will see you.

General consultation

Fevers, respiratory and stomach illness, ear and eye problems, and anything that has been getting worse instead of better.

On-site laboratory

Blood work and diagnostic testing done here, so a diagnosis does not wait for Nicoya.

EKG

Cardiac assessment on site, which in a town this size is the difference between knowing and guessing.

Travel and visitor care

Surf and moto injuries, sunburn, food-borne illness, and documentation for your travel insurance claim.

Family and resident care

Ongoing care for the people who live here year-round, from children to adults.

Ambulance and medical evacuation

When a case needs a hospital, ground ambulance and air evacuation to Nicoya, Liberia or San José can be arranged.

Why us

Why Sámara comes here

Samara Medical Center — entrada de la clínica en Main St, Sámara, Guanacaste
Our entrance on Main St, Sámara — walk in during opening hours
01

A clinic, not one doctor

Whoever is on shift, you are treated by someone trained to the same standard — the one Dr. Soto has built here since 1996. That is what makes a clinic dependable rather than a single person's schedule.

02

Emergency medicine in a beach town

Our clinical lead trained in the emergency room at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, and that experience shapes how this clinic handles trauma, wounds and acute cases. It is why a serious injury in Sámara does not have to start with an hour's drive.

03

Your history stays here

The clinic has kept patient records since 1996. Whoever sees you today can look up what happened last time, so you do not start from scratch and repeat a story you have already told.

04

You are seen the same day

No appointment, no referral, no waiting list. Come in during opening hours.

05

We can get you out if you need to go

Diagnosis is only half of it. When a case is beyond what a clinic should handle, we say so, and we arrange the transport.

06

In your language

Consultations in fluent English and Spanish, including the part where the diagnosis is explained properly.

The team

The team

Samara Medical Center is run by a small clinical team, so care does not depend on any one person being in the building.
